About Us
CodeForChange is a computer science organization that helps community organizations and corporations. It was started by a group of high school students from Omaha and Lincoln who initially contacted four local organizations, paired them with high school student teams, and partnered with University of Nebraska-Lincoln professors to solve societal problems. Since then, CodeForChange has grown to over eight different locations within Nebraska with ten clients and ten student teams.
CodeForChange seeks to solve the lack of experiential learning and computational learning with local educational institutions.
CodeForChange seeks to provide students with the opportunity to create the societal change that they want to see in our community.
CodeForChange is a student-led organization, which enables our students to experience peer-to-peer relationships. We don’t believe in top-down structures and limit power hierarchies within our organization.
CodeForChange is regularly expanding to new schools in diverse locations. Whether it be through its Rural Inclusive Growth Project (RIGP) or Diversity Enhancement Initiative (DEI), the CodeForChange outreach/expansion team is continuously on the lookout for methods to grow the organization’s reach.
CodeforChange is now making it possible for students from all over
country, regardless of race, diversity or sex, to participate in a virtual free
internship to enhance their computer science and entrepreneurship skills!!
